Bexley Homeowners Association

The Bexley Association, through its Board and participation of residents, aims to promote neighborhood values and safety. It maintains 44 acres of common area including three main entrances and a community lake with picnic and children’s play areas and canoe storage. Regular newsletters keep Bexley’s 427 homeowners informed via email or mailings about neighborhood activities. The Association also supports a Neighborhood Watch Program, Neighborhood Yard Sale, and an Annual Picnic. Dues are $265.00 per year with lakefront owners paying an additional $265.00 to a separate lake maintenance fund.

The Annual Homeowners Meeting is held each February and various social and community gatherings are scheduled throughout the year. Board members are elected and serve voluntarily. Board Meetings are held monthly.

Property Resale Certificate

Homeowners Association Resale Certificates (Closing Packages) for Buyers and Sellers

What are they?

These packages are provided by Homeowner Associations for sellers to give to their purchasers at contract time. They are mandated by disclosure law (Virginia Code 55.1-2307 - 55.1-2317) depending on original declarations, mandatory or voluntary dues, and/or association responsibilities. The Bexley Association, comprised of Bexley Cosmopolitan, Bexley East, and Bexley (original) makes Resale certificates available to all sellers. They contain valuable information regarding community activities, newsletters, association bylaws, budget and balance sheets, maps, and minutes of monthly board meetings. Since all lots are subject to covenants, restrictions, and design standards, these also are included. Buyers have come to expect and value resale certificates in communities with common areas, covenants, and an active Association.

Bexley home sellers or their real estate agents may obtain a Resale Certificate by contacting Maureen Olmsted via email: treasurer@bexleyhomes.net.

When a resale certificate is ordered, our Architectural Coordinating Committee (ACC) will perform a walk-around inspection of the property being sold. A copy of the inspection report will be included with the resale certificate.

The package preparation and delivery fee for the resale certificate is $100 and is paid to “The Bexley Association.” Payment is due when the resale certificate is ordered unless an alternate payment date is negotiated with the HOA.

Boat / Canoe Registration

Bexley Residents can store canoes/boats in the racks located throughout the Bexley Park area, to make enjoying the lakes more convenient. If you'd like to take advantage of this option, send an email to pf.harmata@gmail.com with your name and contact information (address, email, phone), some kind of boat information (color, make, model, etc), as well as the rack number and slot you would like to use, and we will register your boat. Please read Rules for Boat Storage in the HOA Resources Section.

ACC Reminders

With the return of warm weather, we know that everyone wants to get outside and start working on exterior home improvement and landscaping projects. Please keep in mind that some projects require ACC approval, such as:

Roofing or Siding Replacement
Change in Exterior Paint Color
Fence Installation
Building a Shed/Exterior Structure
Cutting Down Trees over 6" in diameter
Changes to Landscape that Significantly Alter the Appearance of Your Property
